Who are you going to be?
In the moments that are hard.
What decision are you going to make?
We are the sum of the decisions that we take when confronted with situations that challenge us.
While some may retort and reply that they had no choice… they had a choice. We all do, Regardless of the hand life serves us.
It is an interesting dichotomy to reflect on… the idea that how we choose, is the clearest reflection of the person we have chosen to become.
We are always navigating our evolving sense of identity.
Every choice brings us closer or further away from an alignment within ourselves.
It will not be enough that others are pleased and hold your choices in high regard if you do not. No amount of praise or accolades will reconcile choosing a path that removes us from ourselves. Yet many of us find ourselves in a position where we lost ourselves through a series of seemingly harmless decisions… and only with that lack of self-recognition to we realize, those small deviations from self, cost more than we bargained for.
Who are you?
This is the first question I ask myself when making a tough call.
I know the right choice reveals itself, when I remind myself of who I am.
Not who others expect me to be, or what the situation may expect of me. What supersedes societal scrutiny at every turn is my own capacity to reconcile that my decision matrix is tightly tethered to my identity.
I am, therefore I choose.
In searching for that alignment there is peace enduring calamity, there is strength enduring the storms.
Because I chose in alignment with how I see myself. And if in making that choice, the road ahead is dark, my inner clarity serves as the light.
An inner knowing… that how I choose is always a reflection of who I’m choosing to be.
So when you choose, know that I’m watching intently.
Not to judge or to criticize, but to see. It is in how one navigates their own matrix of decision-making do we get a glimpse of their identity. Actions speak louder than words, and while I will always be an avid listener, there is more to hear as a silent observer. Allowing your decisions to paint an accurate picture, that enables me to decipher, the self that’s hidden between the lines.
We can choose to be whomever.
Everyday is a blank slate, filled with the traces left behind in our choices.
And as days come to an end, and you are caught in self-reflection, ask yourself who your choices have declared you to be.
And if you are not satisfied with the response… with the truth that clings to the air, then dare to choose differently.
Though we may be seen in our choices, we define the path of our evolution, of our becoming, each day we choose to align to our inner knowing,
Not in the noise that surrounds us, or the pressures that aim to keep us small.
Protect the choice that exists within each of us, align to the inner calling when it speaks to us… knowing it will show you who you are, and be the guide that brings you back home to yourself.
Do not agree, if it brings inner turmoil.
Do not sit silent if the situation is calling for you to speak.
Make the choice to choose the path that brings you to alignment, that centres you, grounds you… and brings you peace.
