The Quiet Courage of Becoming: When Life Reintroduces You to Yourself
Life has an interesting way of introducing you to yourself.
We often talk about forgetting to see the people around us that we see most frequently, never thinking that the same rule applies to ourselves.
If we aren't paying attention, we are the first to lose sight of who we are becoming as life carries us through different moments, challenges, and milestones.
Too many people fail to see their own transformation until they reach a stage of feeling entirely unrecognizable.
The classic identity crisis is not an inevitable part of becoming.

Presence gives you the opportunity to see yourself in the choices you make and your response to the world around you.
We are shaped in every detail that layers into our biography. The unexpected and the carefully planned moments that play into our becoming.
Intentionality keeps us mindful. Rather than allow moments to pass us by, we soak them in. We savour the pause before we move, choose, or decide. This mindfulness extends inward: we notice the emotions these moments evoke in us and consider how the course we choose might shape who we become.
I blame no one for the course my life has taken.
Knowing that my actions and decided inaction have consequences, I recognize how my past decisions continue to shape my present reality.
The choice to do the hard thing, the right thing, the scary thing... when the stakes felt like they were too high.
Choosing to take the leap of faith when the fear of the unknown would have kept both your feet on solid ground.
We would be doing ourselves a disservice if we resisted the change within us during the times when life introduces disruption around us.
There is gratitude when you feel the reward that comes with making the hard choices. The silent thankful prayer that even when no one was watching, you honoured yourself.

We are always changing, and I hope that we all find the courage to make the change that aligns with the path that ultimately serves us.
To not make concessions in the face of those moments that call for courage. Not bowing out when our present circumstances are calling us to be brave.
If we believe that change is also the catalyst for our own transformation, we will do our best to be our best, whenever we can.
There is deep gratitude in finding a community that sees your effort through the grit, blood, sweat, and tears—people who honour your becoming and encourage your potential.
There is so much to be thankful for when purpose is the mandate that drives you forward even when the road ahead is uncertain.
Trust that each step can influence your sense of self-acceptance and inner belonging. Honour the path towards your becoming, as well as what your choices have made of you.
We are informing our becoming, one choice at a time.
