Respond to the Wake Up Call & Speak your Truth

There are some unpopular opinions that will always be worth sharing.

All to say, we often assume that for a point of view to be shared it needs to be welcomed.

That couldn’t be further from the truth.

Sometimes it is the unspoken opinions, bravely shared, that create the ripples of change that were long overdue.

It is in calling out the dysfunction, that we disrupt systems that have long since needed to be dismantled.

The truth, in all  its forms, is a wakeup call. It’s time to wake up.

Beauty in speaking your truth

We each enable this personal and collective awakening, one unpopular opinion at a time.

I believe in standing up for what I believe is right. This means I hold myself accountable in ensuring that my actions align to my beliefs. It matters that we speak our truth out loud. There is so much power released when our words align to our convictions, and our convictions come from a place of good intentions.

There are people you will meet in life who will try and convince that your words don’t matter. These are the people who will invest dime and dollar trying to get you believe that what you say doesn’t count.

Speak your truth anyway.

I have suffered the consequences of my truth.

I have come to face with those who tried to bury me, because of the weight my truth carried… I have endured, and for my truth I would do it again.

It is the worst form of self-betrayal to submit and concede to a lie.

To witness acts and actions that go against the fabric of who you are, yet still, willfully choose to turn a blind eye.

There is an unspoken suffering when we abandon ourselves in this way, and I would rather suffer the cost of standing in alignment with my values, beliefs and convictions…even if they cost me everything.

And understand, for some of you reading this…the truth has the power to violent close chapters in your life.

Welcome this loss, never shy away from it.

The truth is worth the sacrifice

I wish people were as passionate about keeping the truth alive as those who are driven to hide behind a lie. I have seen the extents that people would go through to hide behind a façade. I want people to know how powerful it is to pour that kind of energy into keeping the truth alive. I want to be the kind of person that is unrelenting, in all cases where the truth is concerned.

I will not be intimidated by a lie.

Will not allow myself to be swayed by empty and calculated words.

I will not be deterred from speaking my truth into existence every chance I get.

Because it is needed.

There is still so much hope for humanity, when we remember that goodness is not a resting state.

Sometimes the truth itself needs a defender… A role that we each have a choice to take on.

There is a sacrifice in aligning to your truth… nothing that anyone can predict, but it’s the sacrifice I would choose over that of aligning to a lie.

The truth, your truth, it is worth breaking for…

It is worth healing from.

So, when in doubt, don’t just take my word for it, try it out.

Don’t ever let your truth be silenced.
